I just saw a clip of Mami as Der Tod singing Saigo no Dansu.

That scene must have been a response to fan demand. And they couldn't do more because it would have been one hell of a task to clean the theater from all that goo.

For the 2001 TCA special, fans voted on what roles they would like to see the tops play that they'd never had the opportunity to play before. Noru was Rudolf and did a scene from Utakata no Koi. Tamo was Okita and did a scene from Hoshikage no Hito. Wao was Oscar and did a scene from Rose of Versailles, and as you've scene, Mami was Death and did the scene from Elisabeth.
