Oh, oh, ooohhh...

I just purchased a legal copy of "Time To Love" for 150 Yen, with no Japanese address or Japanese iTunes card required. \o/ All it took was to register an account/email address and a regular, simple credit card (mine is a Master Card).

From MUSICO.

They also have a pretty promo pic up that I have been looking for. Yay.

Wednesday the song ranked 7th on MUSICO's sales-based hitlist, but yesterday they weren't in the top ten anymore...

Important Note: What you get is a DRM protected wma file (unlimited playbacks, limited number of burns, 1 license reissue). However, there are [legal and somewhat-legal] ways to get rid of the protection, like burning the file on CD and ripping it in whatever format you want or using FairUse4WM, which I can confirm works with this file. Or you use GoldWave (or any other wav-recording software) to record the wave output and save it as mp3 (or whatever you like/need).
_

ETA: D'oh. Musico is officially listed on the tca pictures website as one of the online music stores where you can get takarazuka music. I thought with everyone just talking about iTunes, this was the only option for us to purchase zuka music online. Since I keep anything Apple far, FAAAAR away from my PC, I wasn't really interested in this option. But Musico obvioulsy works, too, and for everyone who doesn't have a Japanese address it's even easier than the iTunes option.

ETA2: [Link Dump] A picture of shiny, happy OSASA people.

Do you know if the DRM on the WMA file you get prevents you from using something like Switch and converting it to an mp3? Because I'm in the opposite boat you are (have a Mac, work for Apple, detest WMAs and can't put them on my iPod, thus no point in paying for one if I can't convert it) but am desperate to be able to get ahold of some of this stuff.

I just downloaded Switch and tested it, and no, it doesn't work.

But if you want *some* of that stuff (assuming that means more than one song), wouldn't it be better if you actually bought a Japanese iTunes card?

It seems to be pretty easy with jbox - no Japanese language skills, Japanese credit card or Japanese address required:

http://www.jbox.com/PRODUCT/ITUNESCARD

You don't even need to have it sent to you, they'll scan it for you and you can use it instantly.

Thanks for testing that for me. It looks like I will end up just ordering an iTunes card from JBox. I had been avoiding doing so since for awhile with the exchange rate and the prices JBox was charging it was really pretty criminal (I swear last time I looked it was going to end up costing almost twice as much as the card was actually worth if you bought it there). Either I'm just misremembering or their prices have dropped, because that's actually not too bad now and I probably will just end up doing that.

You got "Time To Love"! Man I am loving that song, it gets addicting, especially if you have the Fabulous 5 of Yukigumi, ^_^!

Hey there,

Thanks for posting about Musico. It's nice to know we have options on how to buy Takarazuka music ^__^. I have some questions if you don't mind.

I've registered, entered my credit card number and such (visa) but I can't seem to purchase the items on my cart. I've also adjusted my IE browser settings (at least I think I did, I had to use babelfish since I'm kanji illiterate ^^;). Would you happen to have any idea on what seems to be the problem? Thanks in advance!

P.S : I hope you don't mind me adding you ^__^

Hm, are you sure the registration process is completed? Did you get the confirmation email and clicked the confirmation link?

From there it shouldn't be too hard with the help page:

http://musico.jp/help/help.aspx

Btw, http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english is a much better translator.

Yes, I'm pretty sure the registration is complete. I clicked the url sent to my email, and I got confirmation that the process was done. I even managed to sign in. That's why I'm confused ^^;

Thanks for the translator. Will try it now.

Sadly no T__T It might be due to my internet connection. I have broadband internet, but the speed is pretty slow compared to what's used in Japan (& the rest of the world ^^;). Maybe the site required fast internet.

There goes my plan on buying Cosmos Elisabeth tracks. Zunko!TakaHana! T__T

Hm, the only brief problem I had was with the name on my credit card. I had to put it in caps.

If you have AIM or MSN, we could try it step by step, because I don't think it's the internet connection.

I have yahoo messenger ID : brooding_vampire Yahoo & MSN IDs can be used together, right? Or is Windows Live different than MSN?

Thank you very much! I really appreciate this ^__^

Hi, I just stumbled upon your website describing how to buy music von musico and this entry here. Your success encouraged me to try to buy music from that site once again and thanks to your help I managed! Thank you soooo much!!! *is gleefully listening to "Excalibur"-music*

(Although I've been knowing of the site for about a year, I always got an error-message and thought: "Oh well, so they noticed that I don't live in Japan after all..." and didn't try further *I'm an idiot!*)
