Google is my second best internet friend.

I was looking for the current rankings to see where Hiromi stands compared to her batchmates:

Hana, Tsuki, Yuki, Hoshi, Sora

It doesn't look all that bad at first glance, Morie, Meo and Hiromi are all not ranked yet. But what is the difference between 男役スター (Hiromi) and 若手男役 (Meo & Morie)? Hamako is also designated 男役スター... does that mean that's Hiromi's future? If that's her choice, I can very easily and happily live with that... ^^

I think 'wakate otokoyaku' = rising star, where 'star' = well... star. ^_^; i.e., they're established already. (Which would explain why the latter category includes both the popular older stars and the younger ones that leapfrogged their classmates.) That's a complete guess though.

In general I would second that.
But I have a problem to re-enact why Masao is rising star and Kitarou is a star. That sounds a little weird to me.

Looking at the people in general it looks more like the 'stars' are established supporters while the 'rising' ones are those who's destiny is not yet decided.
Provided that, only who's whatever bante is definitely on star treck.

That seems logical. And it would mean that Kitarou's fate is decided, too. :-/

Who I really wonder about in that case (next to Hiromi of course) is Sonoka. Eh???

And who surprises me is Maggie. She's listed as rising <3333

That's a very interesting chart. I find it strange that there are no 若手男役 listed at all for Yuki or Hoshi... (I mean, for example Saou Kurama and Mahiro Shun; aren't they babies who are getting promoted?) I'm also a little amused to realize that despite Soragumi always being labeled as "young and fresh", Yuki and Hoshi are the troupes with the youngest "bante" stars (Kaname and Kazu).

And I agree with the consensus that those listed as "stars" as opposed to "young stars" means "fixed position" versus "rising". When I compare who's labeled how in each troupe, that's the pattern I see. :-\

I hope this doesn't mean that Kiriyan's fate is sealed as a nibante. She seems like she's meant to be Top! ;_; But with all the recent unrest in Tsukigumi, maybe she will be made Top soon since she's taking over as Bill in Me and My Girl, right? Hmm...

Eh, no, it rather means she's next in line when Asako xxx-es.

Welps, Sonoka's case seems to be somewhat similar to Hiromi then, no? Transferred into a fixed position as established supporter... o.O

And who surprises me is Maggie. She's listed as rising

According to your theory, though, 'rising' also means undecided...

ETA: I must say I'm not totally unhappy with the idea of Hamako/Hiromi/Kitarou being their own trio leading the pack of the supporters... :D

I know that it means undecided, but at least it is/u> still undecided :P

concerning supporters:
just look at Naho or Eri. They are/were supporters for years and got/get a lot of really awesome roles :D

Sorry, I'm a little late responding, but I'm wondering: how reliable is this page? I'm a big musumeyaku fan, so I always pay attention to them. I was surprised to see Hanakage Arisu wasn't listed as one of the "musumeyaku stars" when she's always getting supporting musumeyaku treatment at the daigekijou and bow hall alike.

It made me wonder how official the page was. It wasn't just the guy's own opinion, was it?

Of course this is no official hankyu page and with that it's no official ranking. (I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think they publish the ranking past what they have on their star file pages.)

This page here only lists the top musumeyaku and the second ranked musumeyaku, plus rising otokoyaku stars. Since Arisu is none of the above, she's not listed.
