Jan. 7th, 2008 07:42 amI now officially belong to those people who will confirm that a hard drive that doesn't spin up may be revived temporarily by putting it in the fridge for 1-2 hours. It worked twice for me, with two different drives.
For anyone who might need to try it: remember to wrap the drive tightly in a plastic bag before putting it in the fridge/freezer (I also keep it wrapped in a towel when reconnecting it to the system) to prevent condensation.
